POPO2024 Day 31

31

I pour myself into fantasy worlds
with their plots, emotional manipulations;
safe spaces to feel.
They keep me human
as I drift further from reality.
I prefer their limitations
over the uneasy discomfort
of awkward face-to-faces
with their wrong reads.
People like me are better suited
to our fantasy worlds,
odd characters on page and screen.

  2. You really captured the essence of a person with that poem, Lisa. It’s almost scary how on point it is.

  3. While ultimately it’s hard to avoid reality, fantasy worlds can be a welcome escape. I admit I’ve used music as a temporary escape hatch and believe it has helped me.

      I find fantasy worlds comforting. Music definitely is one of the ways for me also, Christian. It’s harmless as long as people in the real world don’t get neglected because of it.

      1. Great point, Lisa. Occasionally, I feel a bit guilty since each minute I spend with music is one minute less I spend with my family. Itโ€™s definitely about finding a good balance.๐Ÿ˜€
