Laura is today’s host for dVerse’ Meeting the Bar. Laura gave us some options. I chose:
2. Three little words – Sarah gave us this prompt based on what3words:

I also chose to do the Optional Triolet Challenge, but I used 7 syllables instead of the 6 or 8 syllables required in the challenge, so it’s a modified triolet.
Can you guess what location I chose? Washington, D.C. The election coming up the first Tuesday of November is on everyone’s mind. A lot is riding on it.
The 3 words that popped up for it were bottle, figure, and bronze.
The image is AI generated. I don’t like AI, seldom use it, but I wanted to see what it came up with my key terms of bottle, ouroboros, bloody veil, and bronze.

Gaia sacrificed for wealth – sad but, true. Many still don’t believe climate change is a real issue. It doesn’t just mean warm weather it is the cycle of more frequent and severe weather patterns.

There should be an urgency as this is the only planet we have. Humans are destroying it and we need to take action to restore balance. Sigh. Some are working hard to save mother earth and others are in denial, I guess. I worry about future generations.

Truedessa, I have a 3 year old granddaughter and I’m fearful as we march arrogantly towards this “brave new world.” The 2%ers are building survival shelters and trying to get off of the planet. They couldn’t care less about Mother Gaia :(

Cleverly done, Lisa. I like your choice of location, you were lucky with the three words, and the title – I was a fan of The Police and I love Sting. You used some interesting phrases in your triolet, especially ‘Ouroboros of travail’ and ‘Noble braggart in cesspool’. I wouldn’t want to be in the US in the lead-up to the election.

Kim, thanks. I hope we get the outcome of the note we wrote. It’s really stressful driving through a sea of doofus signs. Like I told someone the other day, there are 3 groups as far as signs: 1) Drumfers; 2) Harris; 3) no signs. Group 3 far outweighs the other 2 making them the silent majority. I pray for our nation and by extension the rest of the world. So much in turmoil everywhere it seems.

I went to a viewing party of the VP candidates Walz and Vance this past Tuesday night at the Union Hall. It was great to be with a group of live people who want to see Dems win. Vance admits he lies so every word that comes out of his mouth is suspect. Walz isn’t a good debater but his works in Minnesota speak of his integrity. Harris and Walz will make a good team leading our nation. Not perfect, but good, and a world better than the other 2.

Punam, it makes me sick. People who spend their days thinking of how to manipulate and profit off of others while destroying our only home :( I also like what the AI did with it. Not what I was imagining but that doesn’t matter.

If Harris doesn’t win this election, I’ll be glad I never had children. We won’t be able to solve our world’s problems in time to spare future generations. Even if she wins, we might not, because weather will keep getting worse for the rest of my life regardless, but we’ll have more of a chance.

I hear you on the climate. As I mentioned to Truedessa, nobody seems to have a sense of urgency about climate change and taking action to slow/stop it. One of Drumpf’s favorite sayings is “drill baby drill.” We are sucking the lifeblood from the planet.
