What’s left is the waiting

Harold!”

Harold startles from his reverie.

Time for dinner!,” calls his mother, expecting to repeat her announcement before he flutters down the stairs to join the family for crushed corn and mealworms.

Harold is what some call a dreamer. When they ask him, “what’s going on inside of that noggin of yours?” he says, “It’s all there. What’s left is the waiting.”

One rainy Saturday, Harold glides on misted breezes over his provincial village. He spies a sunny spot on a roof and alights. There it is. The angles are right. Next will be a rainbow, showing the way.

It’s quite remarkable what you can come up with in 100 words or less, Lisa! An engaging read.

By the way… to our discussion on an earlier post, I finally tried kombucha! A farmers’ market I visited yesterday had taps to sample three flavours, and after all my hesitation to buy something I might hate, I enjoyed it! Who knows, maybe I’ll even make my own, following the directions you shared.

Thank you very much on the story, Steve. It’s easy when you have a pic to write to like that.

Fabulous on trying kombucha. So wonderful your farmers market is producing it in barrels and offering samples. Question: was it fizzy?

Yes, it was lightly fizzy. Ginger lemonade flavour, which I found quite refreshing. Maybe more sugar than I am used to since it’s commercial, I’d imagine, but pleasant.

Steve, it’s not supposed to be sugary :( Why does everything need to be spoiled with sugar. During the process of fermentation the sugar that has been added gets consumed. Whatever is added for the 2nd fermentation (to make it fizzy) shouldn’t be sugar. I use fruit juice and pieces of ginger.

Indeed, why… it’s our North American diet at play, I guess. Yours sounds like it would be tasty.
