Love’s Edifice
Mom always said about gorgeous dames, “She’s built like a brick shit house.” First time I saw her, my gonads were pumping like pumps at a half-off gas special at the corner station.
I courted her like Billy Jean King courted her tennis balls, hard and fast. She fell for my candy apple red 1971 Mach 1.
It didn’t take me long to see that her mind was a labyrinth and she was lost in it. Over time, I didn’t know if I was getting gaslighted or blow-torched.
We got hitched in Vegas at The Little White Chapel. Tomorrow’s our fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Mom said that, did she? 😂
Happy 50th to them!

My mom had a million of them. She worked as a bartender for many years, which I’m sure added to her idiomatic lexicon :)

Wow! Wonder how he survived, perhaps the gonads kept him going ;) Very interesting take, Lisa. I enjoyed reading it.
