POPO2024 Day 46

46 1915

Fungus gnats will kill plants
as their grubs eat their roots.
My 1st casualty was a maidenhair
fern I bought for son’s dorm room,
after he gave it back. I watched it
languish, then collapse. Research
ID’ed it and showed how to fight back.
Sticky strips & mosquito bits on soil works.
This year, I learned that putting bits
in drainage trays is perfect preventative,
as the roots soak it up with each water.
(works on roly poly bugs too!)

Dale, with those fungus gnats, I think they were stowaways in bags of soil mixes bought at the store :( Thanks on the tips. These things work. My personal guarantee (until they develop resistance to mosquito bits!)
