The old growlers from a closed cidery
serve as food-dosed plant water holders
for special plants. Loaded with drops
for cacti, African Violets, and orchids.
Algae paints green stained glass
designs on each.
As they grow, memory holds
of raised glasses and
laughters’ happy gatherings.

This is a beautiful and unique piece

half gallon glass jug. people who have cider and beer on tap can sell take-out with them. We had our favorite cidery a few years back where we’d go with a group and buy flights and take a couple of growlers (there is another spelling for them but this is how it’s pronounced) home. I love me my cider!

Magners is my favorite. I like dry cider. What’s yours? Blakes has some good ones.

We have some NC orchard locals selling at the farmers market (that come in 1/2 gallon glass jugs). I like the sweeter stuff, but now that I’ve got to watch my sugar, I’ll go with that tart-er ones, I guess.

I love apple cider if it’s done right. I didn’t know what growlers were either until I looked it up…yes…those are what cider comes in…we used to keep those.

Where we went it was hard cider and quite delicious. I was sorry when I learned it went out of business. It was quite a ways out in the middle of nowhere, where the orchards were.

I remember seeing it as a kid in that jar…and I never tried it until a long time….I instantly fell in love with it when I did.
