autumn soothes for winter

brown polliwogs, blue fish wiggle
brown polliwogs, blue fish wiggle
children from shore watch, giggle
children from shore watch, giggle
blue fish watch, polliwogs giggle
brown children wiggle from shore

orange fox hops through tall grass
orange fox hops through tall grass
willow tree yellow whoosh in wind
willow tree yellow whoosh in wind
orange hops willow tree in tall wind
fox whoosh through yellow grass

autumn plays with all living things
autumn plays with all living things
soothes them for what winter sings
soothes them for what winter sings
autumn soothes them with sings
what for? winter plays all living things

blue fish watch, polliwogs giggle
brown children wiggle from shore
orange hops willow tree in tall wind
fox whoosh through yellow grass
autumn soothes them with sings
what for? winter plays all living things

autumn trees play fish from shore
wind whoosh in with yellow-orange
brown willow grass wiggles, giggles
them; watch fox hop polliwogs
what sings all things children soothes
for living through winter’s blues

This is a second, modified (with 2 ending mashed up stanzas) paradelle for Grace’s dVerse prompt but I missed the linking deadline.   In my mind, it is the memories of summer and fall that carry us through winter.

  2. Paradelicious work, Lisa, and the photocrows + the Cat Stevens make it even more delicioso! I’m getting back on top of things myself:

    Yummers

Ron, that is truly troubling. I just went to your blogger blog and was not able to comment, and I have a blogger account. What the HELL is going on with this blogsites and AI. I just got accused of using AI in a poetry submission, but the line I used was such common speech (Every Tuesday I go to the park with my family) that it’s laughable. All summer I have used that line in posts because I do, so the AI bot lifted that from my blog and said it was AI generated! Now try to figure that one out. They haven’t banned me (yet!) but now I see I have to be on the watch for it. May be time to “move the capitol” again (tao-talk has been moved multiple times since 1999.)

Love the picture, the poem, and the song….and the season for that matter. You are 4 for 4 with this post! As a kid we would raise tadpoles in mom’s tupperware…then let them lose.

Max thanks for saying I got the quadfecta or whatever it’s called. Thats neat about the tadpoles. I’m sure they were grateful for the protection. Cool to watch their tail shrink as their little legs emerge.

We would actually (and I don’t recommend this) get the eggs sometimes and have them until they hatched and mom wanted her stuff back….and then set them free.

Wow, that’s cool. We caught them at the lake in pop bottle. Put a few crumbs of food in there and they would swim in.

I took them to school as well for show and tell. It taught me a lot.

  5. Great job with the paradelle, Lisa. In life too, we have to hold on to the summers and autumns as we struggle to get through the winter blues

Thanks much, Barbara. This is a tough form to write and have it make any sense at the end.
