Group 19 Cento (with a few Group 1 stragglers)
It’s all too easy staying turned in on oneself,
An obligation and a test.
Discern between inevitable and fixable.
Trappings of terrestrial connection,
They tasted like mountain muscle;
I couldn’t fathom where they led.
Some things take their time.
Perhaps it is our cloud-constellation imaginations?
Our souls bide, rooted in our mother earth signals.
Heart is a tricky thing.
The nurse will return home.
Be brave, be open, be seen.
Happiness comes unannounced
Under the flower-filled arms of the tree.
The tide is a dependable friend,
measured-out teaspoons.
The night air is thick with late summer wishing.
Shhh … can you hear it?
Night flower bloom.
Now, we prepare for colder nights.
I yearn to return to waiting,
Settling into nature...
MANY thanks to everyone who sent poems on postcards. POPO2024 is officially closed for me for this year.

You’ve composed a beautiful cento from all these poems.

Nice! I do love the late flower blooms, especially jasmine.

We don’t grow jasmine here but I’ve seen and smelled it at the greenhouse. Beautiful.

I like “happiness comes unannounced,” Lisa! We should never lose hope.

I know, there are some really good poets that participate. No, we shouldn’t as things are always in flux, and for the better at least half the time ;)

Yea that is getting cool. Martha and I were walking at the park…I shouldn’t say park…it’s a Dam…but anyway it’s still warm here but got dark earlier of course.
