dVerse Poetics — Divine Daughter

Grand River, taken 7/26/24

Divine Daughter

three small atoms co-mingled chemistry
birthed a molecule, divinized daughter
sparkling progeny, lifeblood named water

freelance roamer, temper’tural sweety
sublimating, vapored diaspora
three small atoms co-mingled chemistry
birthed a molecule, divinized daughter

mists skies, fills rivers, pumps sap in trees
tantrum blizzards, floods, ice; can’t fault her
multi-morphs of seasons’ reigns, we laud her
three small atoms co-mingled chemistry
birthed a molecule, divinized daughter
sparkling progeny, lifeblood named water

Being born in June and living in a State surrounded by water, it was a sure thing which element to explore. I see water as a divine creation and tried to capture some of its best aspects.

I like the alliterative title, Lisa, the repeated phrase, and the way you explored water as a chemical compound, and a ‘freelance roamer’. I especially love the use of verbs, which bring water alive, in these lines:

‘mists skies, fills rivers, pumps sap in trees
    tantrum blizzards, floods, ice…’

  4. I wasn’t sure, at first, then quickly understood. I just could not be able to attempt such verse, but really must try, instead of always about quite ‘normal’ matters, and in that I admire your spirit and the quality of your pieces. I think I will focus on water and have a go sometime, but not nearly to the complexity and depth of this. So, I like how you played further with the topic we had before, and the style of poetry that I forgotten the name of….

Ain, pretty simple, not complex, 2 hydrogen and an oxygen had a tryst and birthed baby who has blessed us all with life. Hope you are enjoying your Thursday, my friend <3

I’m in awe of you, Lisa. Writing this type of poetry is far outside of my comfort zone and yet you make it look and sound beautiful.

Dale, that is high praise. It feels clunky but I’m glad you like it. Thanks for always being encouraging <3 Are you feeling like you're back in the saddle of health again?

You might but to a neophyte like me? Wonderful!
I am feeling pretty darn good. An annoying thing in the back of my throat causes me to clear it but other than that. Pretty much close to 100!

Yay on close to 100! I know you’ve probably already tried it, but have you tried gargling warm salt water? It can soothe but it can also dislodge stuff from the throat.

I can`t tell you how good that makes me feel. I actually have tried that for cankers but I didn’t know it could help with that scratchy throat thing! Will try tonight. Thank you, my friend.

Dale, I used it after periodontal surgery and it was the only thing that helped soothe the agony.
