Imagine you’re in China
and that it’s real bamboo
the panda bear is smiling
and posing just for you.

The hyacinth are blooming
clumped in their special pots
gone before the bees wake
fragrance calls just us.

Naked Miss Wisteria
is missing her new dress
ancient crone stands with help
of iron-caned trellis.

Peter’s fond of cabbage
alas he breaks his teeth
Silly wabbit needs to wait
to nibble summer’s green.

Cone-fur, draped grace
along needled aerialists
perfect shades anytime
but prettiest in Spring
These are from pics I took this past Tuesday at fmg. The sculptures:
“Beautiful Garden,” by Shirley Thompson-Smith
“Bunny and Cabbage,” by Mary Zimmerman
Lillian is today’s host for dVerse’ Open Link Night.

Well I LOVE them all but Peter’s made me chuckle out loud!!! Thanks for the smiles, my friend!

Your photos and jaunty rhymes made me smile, Lisa. I could smell the hyacinths!

So happy to make you smile and I like you calling them “jaunty rhymes.” I’m a spring garden rapper ;)

A really lovely trip through spring – thank you for all the smiles – it reminded me of the Alice in Wonderland Ballet – I smiled through all of that too (well, except for the two times I wept from the sheer beauty of it).

Anna, thanks much. To be outside there and see all of the flowers in bloom lifted me up. Most of these pics are near the children’s section so the sculptures are more uplifting also.

Christian, just all of the time on the posting pics from there. I go weekly, and I rarely have photographed the same thing twice. They are always changing things up there. I wish I could live near it and just walk there every day.

They were all fantastic, Lisa, but the wisteria one calls to me. I’m sure her dress will be fabulous!
