Escape
“You’re doing it again.”
Indeed, Robin is – bouncing off of the walls of fantasy, lost in rainbows, surprised caterpillars, and mysteriously webbed lairs of intrigue.
“Robin!”
She looks up from her phone, yanked back to a reality of Jerry’s grim expression of pained disappointment. When did he get those creases between his eyes?
“I’m sorry,” she says. She says that a lot these days. Years, actually.
Jerry dials, then says, “We’re on our way.”
“Where?”
“You’ll see.”
They pull up to an unadorned blonde brick building with a buzzer at the door.
Robin isn’t interested in reality’s prison.
She bolts.

Notes:
I’m on a blogging hiatus until the end of June, but I also had to check to see if Rochelle used one of my pics for FF. I see she did so I’m going to make an(other) exception and write to it. This place is a trampoline/arcade/mini-golf/laser tag entertainment center that we went to a few weeks back. And yes, I did jump on a trampoline.

Rochelle Wisoff-Fields is the host of Friday Fictioneers.

Run, Robin, run

What is Robin missing in life, reality isn’t too bad. Or is it?

James, I think you could ask those same questions for any addict. At first, it’s for relief from reality, and then it becomes a substitute for it. Thank you for reading and your thoughtful comment.

Dear Lisa,
Thank you for a wonderfully colorful photo. I’m with Robin. Reality can be a prison. Good one.

Rochelle you are welcome on the photo. Thanks on the story. This story was more than a little autobiographical.
