Kim inspired me to try to write a double cherita. Dotty is having some health issues and this poem is about her.
Merril is today’s for dVerse’ Meeting the Bar Thursday. Merril says:
Write a cherita in either 1-2-3 form or 3-2-1 form
OR write a double cherita where the second part mirrors the first:
1-2-3 then 3-2-1, as we did for Laura’s prompt.

Aww–she’s so sweet. “soft breath”–I love to watch my cats sleep. I hope Dotty will be OK. Sending her good thoughts.

Your cherita is beautifully composed, and so very sad. Your Dotty is trying to get comfortable all curled up.
My daughter sent me a video last evening of her precious Yoda the cat, an orange fluff ball and close to 18. His breathing is quite labored, I believe she thought he might pass, however he is still with us. Hoping against all hope he is not in pain.
Keep the faith ….

Helen, thank you very much. She’s comfy in her little bed. A few weeks ago a different story. She’s a trooper, I’ll give her that.
Aww, Yoda is a very neat name for a cat. I’m sorry to hear he’s struggling to breathe. Will vibe energy to him to easy his breath and remove any discomfort. <3

Her dreaming of kittens caused me to think perhaps she’d just been spayed. I like how you have imagined the thoughts/dreams of your kitty.

Judy, this wasn’t spaying, although she’s been spayed — twice. Long story. Thank you very much for your kind words.

It’s interesting how cats are sleeping. The imagine reminds me of our two cats. I hope Dotty will feel better soon!

Christian, it is interesting. She’s always been anxiety-ridden so hasn’t felt relaxed enough to sprawl out. Now that she’s had a few weeks to heal up from surgery I think she feels better and more relaxed. Keep prayers going for her, will you?

Poor Dotty. I hope she recovers soon. Mojo has oral cancer and the prognosis on 3rd June was for between 1-4 months. She is still eating, grooming, purring and sleeping on the bed with me. The soft breath is what we listen for. Sending hugs for you and Dotty.

No she was a tabby – we didn’t really know how old she was – she adopted us! we guessed she was about 4yrs old she had had at least1 litter and was very timid at first I think she had been badly treated. But she became quite the character we had her for 12 years, she was a very old lady in the end, but passed away peacefully in her basket – I do miss her ❤️

What amazes me is how they are mostly fur and bones. Very delicate and very light bones. They only stretch and splay when they are in a 100% safe environment. She feels safe in her little bed beside me.

Your prose let us feel Dotty’s sleeping contentment and it was such a nice flow – and hope the health issues are not too major – and yes I am going to add a cheesy line – purrrrfect cherita prose….
