dVerse — MTB/Form — Switch

switch

return
to dream group friends
stitch meaning together
nouns dancing puzzles in the dark
to light

I went back to a dream group today after a hiatus.  It felt good.

Björn is today’s host for dVerse’ Meeting the Bar/Forms. Björn asks us to write a cinquain.  It is a short poem based on syllable count.and is a five-line poem with a syllable count of 2-4-6-8-2, but there are plenty of variations.

    I love the internal rhyme in title and cinquain, Lisa, ‘switch /stitch’ and the thought of stitching meaning together. It reminded me a bit of the book and film How to Make an American Quilt.

    Love the connection between ‘switch’ and ‘dancing’ ~ I enjoy square dancing ~ we hear the command ‘SWITCH’ many times, which sometimes causes me to stumble over my feet! And giggle.

      It is, Dwight. We all bring dreams and we all help the dreamer find their own interpretation.

        That would be a lot of fun! Maybe we should try that on d’Verse sometime!?

          Dwight, not sure we could use actual dreams as it’s a little complicated. That said…. maybe we could do a prompt where we could give some various dream scenarios and we could write poems about what we guess is going on. Something like that? Good idea, Dwight!

      Gia, I’m glad you’re intrigued by it. It was my attempt at creating a collage based on a dream I had. I was driving in a car and looked in the side rearview mirror and saw that glowing orb. Your guesses are good one :)
