dVerse – Q233 — Moon Never Boos

Moon Never Boos

Moon never boos night;
two partners who share.

Night is jealous of sun’s
half-time of blue sphere.

Shadow sneaks into day
as things turn and sway,

moving to light’s rhythm,
slow-motion choreograph.

Sun rings mates to flicker
twinkling night, water, bright,
perpetual balancing game.

De (aka whimsygizmo) is today’s host of dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. De would like us to write a 44-word poem using the word boo.

  18. you introduced a very interesting concept with the sun and the moon being in a sort of competition. They seem to be portrayed as going together but what if they don’t want it to be that way?

    1. Lisa or Li's avatar Lisa or Li says:

      Christine, thanks! I could be wrong, there might be myths out there that have them in competition. Will try to find out. I see the moon as the great mediator.

    Maybe it’s the photo of the moon shadows, but I can imagine bare branches of trees swirling around in the moonlight, and dappled shadows in the sunlight. I enjoyed your poem. :)
