These things get tall, up to 8 feet. It’s a medicinal plant for lung congestion and also the leaves are soft and were used in olden times (or now if you’re stuck out somewhere) for toilet paper.
We were at the nature center and there is a “kitchen area” by what is more or less a mud hole with a bridge over it. We kept hearing it calling and tracked the critter to a scraggly tree just a few feet from the mudhole.
Wow, is that plant really tall or just how the camera is showing it. I’ve never seen one of these. :)
