You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.
eye. A-counting we will go afield, on moss-bordered paths skirting river snakes. When we let our eyes slow we may note a plop; yet nature’s un-count ability draws us, I think.
eye eye. Mysterious beings, they speak solitonic language that becomes apparent when we work with them. They aren’t just squiggly lines that we manipulate to make sense of a thing.
eye vee. limited by fingers and toes? what if millipedes ruled? what if millipedes rule?
Mish is today’s host for dVerse’ Tuesday Poetics. Mish wants us to write about numbers. I decided to write a series of short poems and purposely did not use any numbers. I could write about numbers all day long. Mish, thank you for a wonderfully expansive prompt.
What a fabulous series, Lisa, and no numbers (except for the roman numerals)! I enjoyed the wander through nature, a-counting as we went, and the squiggly lines and millipedes made me smile. I used to do i-ching many years ago, so that poem resonated with me.
Kim, thanks, yes those Roman numerals, pesky little buggers. On i-ching, whether we do it or not, we are ruled by the cyclicity of change was what I was trying to get at. Happy you enjoyed the wander through nature <3
Loved your ‘nursery rhyme’ romp Lisa – I did have to look up ‘solitonic’ – but hey that’s a learning for me😊 and millipedes should rule, I’m sure they would find maths far easier than I did😄
what an enjoyable read to your varied stanzas Lisa – a deep dive into all the permutations and riding that Soliton wave

I think millipeds rule, since we are ruled by finance.

Kim, I just removed the roman numerals, you’re right, they needed to go.

I saw those roman numerals vanish! Nice edit and what an interesting approach to the theme. You have me reading about soliton….also interesting.

Nicely woven Lisa. ‘solitonic’, at least I was in the ballpark when I looked it up. I should have taken your words that followed as clue!

You are far too clever for me! And I liked this very much… I, too, had to look up solitonic…

I found it on rhymezone as a synonym to another word (forgot what now) and said yeah :)

You are welcome. I was randomly looking for some graphic that fit. It was almost a surprise to see how many other ways there are to write numbers.

I think I’ll reblog this if that’s ok? Deserves to be read and reread.
