Oops! This was supposed to post at 9 this morning but last night’s tired me forgot to schedule it. Here ya go!
Some of these are from November and the rest from December so far. In the beginning of November older son had vacation and we took a drive north, to Hesperia, where there is a dam. It’s a beautiful place, but I have to wonder how much longer the dam will remain, as it hurts the ecosystem. We walked across the bridge over it and saw a bunch of locks locked on the fencing. Has this become a trend? I’ve seen it other places and also in pics online.
I had my monthly lunch date with a former co-worker who is still my friend. We had lunch at Hank’s, a cute little tavern that’s one of our favorite places to go. The ambience is wonderful, the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the service is exceptional. Locally owned and operated.
On to December with a slideshow of miscellany!
Last week we were at Meijer Gardens and saw the new Jaume Plensa exhibit. I took just a few pics. Remember me talking about the Big Face Room (Utopia)? Jaume is the artist of that also, as well as several other sculptures at the gardens.

We also walked around some of the other areas of the gardens (inside, the outside is closed for a special pay-per-walk event of holiday lights) including the arid garden, the Victorian garden, and the Christmas/holiday displays they already have set up. The locks may be like the ones on the bridge in Paris. Where lovers put locks on the wire to show there long lasting love for each other.

Lisa, love the shots of Hesperia, which from what I am reading now sounds like a lovely place for outdoor recreation year-round. It looks beautiful in the Fall sun. Glad you and your son got to spend some time together. The Plensa exhibit looks very cool as well – really interesting art.

Bruce, Hesperia is a beautiful area, and so is nearby Fremont. It was a beautiful day for a drive. Totally agree on Plensa. He’s an amazing artist. “Utopia” is something that needs to be seen to be believed. How he made that happen is a miracle of thought made manifest.

Thanks, Max. That restaurant is an old building that is in quonset hut shape. Forgot what it used to be, but a local restauranteur bought it and remodeled it beautifully, as he has several other buildings around town. He ended up selling it to the current owners. They’ve built a solid block of customers. The place is packed at lunch time.
Granddaughter and her little friend seemed fascinated with the Plensa exhibit. I didn’t take a pic of a large meditating person that changes colors but I should have. There’s also a tiny model of the person on the wall that is also changing colors. I’m glad Plensa has found a home at Meijer Gardens.

I love windows like that or anything out of the ordinary if it looks cool…and that looks cool. This is stupid sounding but I like round things…that is why I like the seventies design styles like lolipop lamps.
That is cool she had a good time with her friend. It does look like a very cool place to go and seems to be changing a lot to keep it fresh.

Yes…Me and My Arrow…funny story about that song. A radio station opened up down here years ago…called The Arrow…they played that song straight for 2 days lol.
