dVerse Poetics Tuesday — unwinding

Open Weave Mesh Fabricsimage link

unwinding

landscapes that one hopes are never binding
quicksand, bogs, crevasses please avoid
weaves unseam as wisdom is unwinding

seasons gather hems forever finding
fabrics stitched with bits of overjoy
verdant hopes may stay but are not binding

unstick bias, resolute non-minding
comfort basks in quiet of the void
weaves unseam as wisdom is unwinding

serendipity an unsought finding
bobbin on high seas of sweet unspoiled
verdant hopes may stay but are not binding

let it stage without the set designing
sixth sense twinkles, yet may not be purloined
weaves unseam as wisdom is unwinding

let it breathe within you, stop your grinding
realize its worth as golden coins
landscapes that one hopes are never binding
weaves, unseams, as wisdom is unwinding

This is a modified Villanelle form.

Lillian is today’s host of dVerse’ Poetics. Lillian says:
Write a poem and include at least one of the sewing terms given above in the body of your poem. You may choose to use more. REMEMBER: the poem isn’t supposed to be about sewing. You’re just going to import one sewing term or several, into the flow of your poem. There is no required topic or length or form.

Love it all….and most especially the first two lines in the last stanza. That’s my goal!!! As my daughter says to me, “just let it all go, mom and BREATHE!” :)

Mesmerizing. Loved the alliteration and repetition of “weaves unseam as wisdom is unwinding” and the sound of “sixth sense twinkles”.

I like the landscape theme running through the sewing imagery (or is it the sewing theme running through landscape imagery? Why not both?)
