dVerse Q239 — when…

when…

when you’re lost
in rumination
down a dark hole

when you’re doom-
scrolling, wound up
tight in agitation

you may need
a bit of
respite

when you least
want to do it
find a way to smile

sun sear through
clouds. gold gleam
on snow

For anyone who hasn’t watched, “The Life of Chuck,” I highly recommend it.

De Jackson (aka whimsygizmo) is today’s host of dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. De wants us to write a 44-word poem using the word smile.

The first thing I saw was the image of the smiling frog, Lisa, which made me smile, despite my sorrow, and proves  your point: ‘when you’re lost…down a dark hole…find a way to smile’. I love the hopeful glow of the lines:

    ‘sun sear through
    clouds. gold gleam
    on snow’.

When I get to feel that way I look at reels of baby elephants. That soon has me laughing! 🤣❤️

The Life Of Chuck video was excellent, Lisa. Mrs. B has specifically requested we give that film a view. That scene certainly will generate smiles in anyone who sees it. The frog certainly seems to have enjoyed it! We should find our way to smiles whenever we can.😊

Bruce, you and Mrs. B will love it. It’s the kind of movie you want to watch again and again. Using smiles for respite is so much better than other ways of coping.
