You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.
Judy Dykstra-Brown is the host of The Numbers Game. Usually I put the # she gives into the media search box and choose from the pictures that show up. Judy also gives us the option of: If instead of numbers, you have changed the identifiers of all your photos into words, pick a word or words to use instead, and show us a variety of photos that contain that word in the title. I am am trying this option out and using tree as my search term. I just tested it out and got 186 hits. A much bigger pool of images to choose from! Please look for the small dark arrow to the right of the image to begin the slideshow.

One of the small calves who was paying attention. This pic was taken from across the street so as not to alarm the herd.
life springs anew from the oak sapling that was under attack last year from tent caterpillars. You can see the “dead end” but the oak says funk dat I’m tough. Thank you to all who were right last year that this beautiful tree would survive the attack.

such a gorgeous day for a walk
I was happily surprised at how good the kousa dogwood fruit flesh tasted! Here are the seeds found inside of the one I ate. They are a little larger than grape seeds and quite hard. Between the smallness of the fruit (about twice the size of a cherry) the inedibility of the skin, and the number of seeds in it, it is understandable why these could not be commercially harvested. I plan on drying these seeds and trying to sprout my own kousa dogwood trees. My dream: one day to walk outside and pick some for breakfast.
Lots of pretty trees, and scenery. Cute rabbit in the hollow tree, lovely redbud blossoms, and that larch in the snow with the curved branches are stand outs for me. :)
Barbara, happy you found some pics you liked out of the bunch. I may keep up the word search rather than the number search. The rabbit one was on a garden tour we went on a few years ago. Every garden had a fairy or fairy scene in it as a theme.
I hadn’t known of the word search feature, so I tried it out on a practice post. I put in tree. I know I have tons of tree pictures, but all I got in the search was one tree, …. and… my grandma’s haunted house! hahahaha go figure! :)
could be because I never labeled any of my photos in the first place? I did try cat, and got some of our cat photos. :) I’ll keep trying. It’s a different way to do it at least. :)

Dang it! Sorry the search box didn’t work the same way for you on tree. It’s a mystery.
