What should you focus on today or tomorrow?
Well, as I said in the earlier question, don’t focus on either,
focus on the present. People can spend so much time
dwelling on the past and the future that they forget
to concentrate on making the day their [sic] living in special.

Iraina’s  wikipedia entry is a little sparse.

Iraina Mancini (b. 1986) is a British singer, songwriter, DJ, radio host, and model. Iraina  was born in London, England. Her father, Geoffrey Alexander MacCormack, better known as Warren Peace, was a childhood friend of David Bowie, and contributed to some of Bowie’s albums and tours.

Early career
Her music career began with “Mancini,” an electronic pop group that appeared on Channel 4’s Mobile Act Unsigned. After that group disbanded, she moved to Liverpool and started a band called “The Venus Fury” with ex members of “The Zutons” and “The Dead 60s.”

Multi-talented
Mancini is also a DJ and typically plays Northern soul, early rhythm and blues, ska, funk, Garage Rock and Latin boogaloo. She has played throughout London and internationally at music and film festivals such as the Toronto Film Festival, Glastonbury, and The Secret Garden Party.

She has also played for brands such as GQ, NME Awards, Swarovski, American Express, and Samsung.

She ran a popular monthly night called “Soul Box” in East London with Eddie Piller and fashion photographer Dean Chalkley. Mancini also presents a monthly radio show on Soho Radio.

On 6/19/20, Mancini provided vocals for “The War,” a single from electronic musicians BT and Matt Fax, which appears in the album The Lost Art of Longing.

In 2021, Mancini returned with new solo music including singles “Shotgun”, “Deep End”, and “Do It (You stole the Rhythm.)” Her music takes influences from 1960s French cinema, Psychedelia, Serge Gainsbourg, and French YeYe girls.

All singles playlist and featured heavily on BBC 6 Music and Radio 2 with firm fans in Lauren Laverne, Jo Whiley and Chris Hawkins.

I looked at imdb and found no biography, but I did find a list of music videos:
Lovers in the Dark (2019)
Undo the Blue (2023)
What You Doin’ (2023)
Cannonball (2023)
Running for Your Life (2025)

The official website for Iraina at wiki is bogus, which made me look for more info on her. I found two fairly decent reviews on live shows with good pics:

Iraina Mancini: Where Else? Margate – Live Review by Andrew Lockwood at Louder Than War in 2023

Iraina Mancini review — apocalyptic cabaret from an infuriatingly cool chanteuse by Ed Potton at The Times in 2023

Listening to all of the songs imdb lists, I am liking what I’m hearing!  There is a catchy energy, good acoustic production, and her voice is strong.  Give her a chance to show what she can do.  Thank you to whomever gave me Iraina’s name!

  3. Wow…this is NOT what I expected after reading about “electronic”….I was expecting a Kraftwerk type of sound…this is really good! Nothing against Kraftwerk….but they were not in my wheelhouse…this is.

Max, I do like her sound, which sounds retro/60s in the best of ways. Maybe she plays different stuff when she DJs?

What a find, Lisa! I was right into the “Deep End.” The song is indeed catchy and has a bit of a 007 kind of vibe (cool to hear it live, at the end of the live video). The first video is cinematic in quality.

The live recording is a nice contrast, both in recording and style (though the first full song – with absolutely stunning vocals – has similarities to the one in the first video). Amazing artist (and backing ban and singers), loving what I’m hearing, too. Thanks for the introduction.
