Thank you for the kind words Lisa. Ever since I heard her pure honest songwriting and that lonely sounding voice…it stuck with me. I then found out about her history and her vanishing…and just couldn’t believe it. I hope she found peace in whatever direction she went…she earned that.

Max, you are welcome. I appreciate you choosing Connie because of how her music affected you. It matters.

I’m happy that it’s out there now. Like with Big Star…I just want more people to give her a chance. Such a lonely sounding voice but ahead of her time…which happens when you are a pioneer…the pioneers seem to get forgotten.

I read about Connie Converse on Max’s recent post, and it was nice to hear her music again.

I can see why my name is connected because I told Randy in the comment that I wrote this post up for Lisa…

I didn’t see this comment before commenting to Jim. Yes, she was, Max.

Jim, I didn’t see a recent post by Max on Connie, but I think Randy did one. Yes, she has a wholesome and sincere simplicity to her music.

There were a lot of articles about her in the local press recently, maybe a year ago? I have to say actually listening to her was a letdown to me after the big build up. She’s for sure not typical 50s music, but I just can’t get that excited about her. I’m in the minority apparently. (K)

K, what were they saying about her? To each their own in musical taste…

Pretty much what you said. I can’t remember the occasion. Maybe there was a book published?

Yes, I believe the true innovators are not seen for what they are until the times catch up with them. Her life story sounds like a movie script, though it sure wouldn’t be a light and breezy dramedy.
