In addition to the female animators exhibit going on at the Muskegon Museum of Art is the Annual Contemporary Art Exhibit. This year is its 97th. Granddaughter had a lot to do with the pace we went through, so little time for photos. Will try to get back there while it is still going and will do an update on this post.

The first one captured my attention by shape, material, color, and composition:

The next one fascinated me because of its meticulousness, use of natural material, and the direct design as well as shadow being part of the design. For those not familiar with phragmites, they are an unwelcome invasive species around here, wiping out the indigenous plant life. I was happy to see it was cut down and repurposed into art. May a stampede of artists choose to use it for art and remove it from the wild in Michigan!

There is also an exhibit of Herman Miller posters in the basement along with a small room full of doodads from the permanent collection.
