Hello Everyone! Today begins my sharing of postcards and poems sent to people on my list for the annual Poetry Postcard Festival I’ve been participating in since 2021. Kerfe got me started back then and I have fallen in love with the experience. We get a list of 31 names and between July 4 and August 31 we commit to send a postcard to each person. The organizers ask us to wait a month between the end of the festival and sharing the POPOs.
We are allowed to buy pre-made postcards or create our own. I’ve done it both ways over the years. This year I was so impressed with Marina Owens’ postcards that she used in this year’s A2Z in April that when I saw she was selling packs of them, I bought some, then asked Marina if I could share them here. She happily said yes. I have linked to Marina’s A2Z posts under the postcard. If you follow the link it will take you to more information about the amazing woman included here.
Please note that my poems are NOT ekphrastic.

Fuzzy Stories
Have you ever seen
lawn become a field
of long-stemmed
dandelions over green?
They rise above clover’s
dense white-spotted fur;
napping yellow stars in a
storied pollened canopy
browsed by hungry bees.
Each morn I survey; I can’t
mow their fuzzy stories today.

That’s really very great to hear, Lisa! And a wonderfully written poem 👍
I hope to check out the link soon, since I’ve never heard of Marina until now. I’m still new, so please bear with me. ☺️

I love the poem. I love dandelions, and I, too, do not mow them….
(thanks for the link up 😍)

Love the Marina Owens postcards in your A-Z. What a wonderful way to share the history!
Big fan of dandelions and clover. I’ve fallen out with neighbours who have actually sent their lawn care guys over to eradicate these from my front lawn. They were given short shift. More bees, less people, please.

I love the postcard project, and what a great idea to feature Marina’s here. Fuzzy Stories made me think of our introduction of clover to the lawn a couple of years ago. A welcome addition indeed.
