This morning, while drinking first cuppajoe, instead of writing poetry, I decided to watch some Kimmel, who is broadcasting in Brooklyn this week. First I laughed along with guests, Seth Meyers and John Oliver. John talked about how his kid is a big fan of Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo, and about his roles as heavy on two different soap operas. Meyers talked about ongoing live shows he and Oliver are doing (30 so far.)
It was another guest, Mahershala Ali, though that this post is mostly about. Mahershala first came to my attention in Season 3 of True Detective and I’ve been on alert to see him in any roles. Besides being a very interesting person, he is an excellent actor. After sharing stories about when he flew by himself from coast to coast as a 3 year-old, he talked about a new movie he is in that will be released soon, “Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother.” He didn’t give any spoilers but he did share it is about an assassin who is trying to get breast milk for his infant child after the child’s mother passes away. Now if that doesn’t sound intriguing I don’t know what does.
I purposely chose the shortest teaser I could because I really want you (and myself!) to go into this movie cold beyond those few plot points that were shared.

Lisa, I have heard of this film and the premise sounds intriguing. First time seeing a trailer here. Ali is a wonderful performer, and I have no doubt he’ll be great in this as well.
