voting limerick
In the summer of two aught two six
We the People say no more sick grifts
As we take to the polls
Vote against foul red trolls
Setting course for November’s bright day
(written before Aug primaries)

You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.

Georgia O’Keeffe…thanks Lisa…I had never heard of her before…my gosh…one of her paintings sold for 44.4 million.

Wow, didn’t know that about one of her paintings. I know her by the giant, brightly colored flowers that often look like part of a woman’s anatomy. Would like to see one of her paintings outside of a photo.

here is what I found: Georgia O’Keeffe’s most famous and record-breaking work is Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 (1932), which sold for $44.4 million in 2014, setting a world auction record for a painting by a female artist.
It IS a beautiful painting. This one…doesn’t really have that unless I’m not looking at it right. It’s a little over halfway down the page.

Thanks for the link. That’s a beautiful painting. Wondering how someone has an extra $44 million lying around. Probably sits in a room where only the rich person can see it. This kind of art needs to be in a museum and accessible to all.

I hope your limerick comes true.
She is right–every blank paper or canvas is terrifying. But worth it to take the plunge. (K)

This is such an inspiring and vibrant post, Li! That Georgia O’Keeffe quote about acting despite fear is so powerful—what a fantastic mindset to embrace when staring down a blank canvas or page. Your voting limerick carries such a spirited call to action! 😊
