When I go, make me a tree.
Inject my spirit into tall oak
vacated by transcended bodhisattva.
I’ll stay, I promise to continue
the watch, witnessing magnificence
through gift of sentience
on this plane.
I’ll be still, except for playful leaves
and muddy feet. Growing
ever so slowly, taking it all in;
remembering until
sacred baton is passed.
