The Answer, My Friend
Susie curls up in her Snuggly, sipping hot cocoa. Zel curls at her feet on the couch. Who knew a cat could snore so loudly! Susie glances at the clock: three a.m. Even with work early in the morning, she flips channels, fixed on live broadcasts’ numbers rolling in. Percentages climb as do the number of votes.
Susie’s eyes close with hope, yet uncertainty, as the voices drone on…
She startles awake at six and grabs her phone. Blue geysers gush across the land. She hears the collective sigh of relief — and change blowin’ in the wind. She hears evil quake.

Thank you for choosing a perfect photo for this week’s FF. Great shot, Nancy!

Her anticipation about the vote outcome must have been high. A great ending, Lisa! 👍☺️

Oh, I haven’t been this hopeful in 30 years, or whenever

Pleased indeed, though the narrow margins worries me greatly. We’re clearly a deeply divided nation…still

It certainly is, Sadje. I think the new electees get sworn in in January. Then you’re going to see things get rolling for the dismantling of the current regime.
