Renaissance — A Trip to the Fair

I had to take a work day trip to near Detroit yesterday.  While driving I passed through/near two big college towns, Lansing (Michigan State U) and Ann Arbor (U of Michigan), which means college radio stations.  Yes!  Somewhere along the way yesterday, while channel surfing, I heard familiar piano chords.  Despite it being years since listening to the CD on which it is found, my brain immediately grabbed the tune, in disbelief.  It thought, there is no-way no-how, A Trip to the Fair is playing on public air waves, in the middle of the day, no-less.  I cranked it up and reveled in every note of this masterpiece.

I’ve got Renaissance’s, “Tales of 1001 Nights” on the CD player as I type.  It’s a live CD.  The prologue just finished.

Renaissance is a band from way back.  Just a minute, I’ll tell you how far back.  OK, formed back in 1969, so way, way back.  If you want to learn more about the band, go here:  allmusic.com link to Renaissance

Ah that voice.  Oh those musical accompaniments.  The sheer joy of listening.  It is going to another place.

Hoping you take a listen.  You may sigh with joy as well.

      1. No 😦 My goal is to head back north when I’m able. I miss the snow. I’m in Las Vegas right now. I don’t do heat at all. HAHA

With the weird weather changes, MI might not even get snow! Yesterday it was about 50 outside. Today 40. As the planet heats up Vegas could get beyond hot.
