Poetry Day 10 — Drug of Choice

drug of choice

Drip drip drip

from my heart

throbbing

pulsing

coursing

through

from main arteries

to capillaries

each cell saturated

mitochondria blazing

as the walls are breached

with the elixir

of you.

  1. I was like, okay, so either there’s a dagger in there but no, noooo it’s LOVE! YES! (the crowd goes wild!)

The line breaks are used to great effect here, each line becoming a “droplet.”

Its a really fancy syringe.* I thought my painting looked like cells injected/infected with love.
