Fandango’s FOWC is garage and the Word of the Day Challenge is taxi.
The yellow taxi with the orange doors followed its route for thirty years, day in, day out. There were no holidays for “Parrot”, as the taxi had been affectionately nicknamed by Chuck, his driver, as Parrot’s orange wings are what set him apart from all of the other taxis. Chuck drove Parrot 365 days of the year. The only exception was the Year of the Great Blizzard of 1989, when the city was shut down for three days.
Parrot loved traveling the city and seeing the familiar sights every day. Chuck often was asked to take his riders around to the main attractions in town, like The World’s Largest Windmill, Steel Point Lighthouse, and Wickham’s Apple Cidery. In the evening, the most popular destination was Faye’s House of Fine Dining.
Chuck usually finished his day’s driving at 9pm; after which he parked Parrot in his favorite spot, in the corner of the Yellow Taxi garage.
A pleasant little tale.
