The Versatile BloggerAward!

Sadje at Keep It Alive

has very kindly nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Tao Talk is an award-free blog, but with Sadje I will make an exception and accept the award.  You see, Sadje is a sunny spot in my blogging community and I appreciate her sunshine.  Thank you so much for this award, Sadje. I appreciate it! I would encourage anyone reading to check out her blog by clicking the link above.

The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!

2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.

3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Seven Things About Me:

  1. I’m very close to adopting a cat from the cat shelter.
  2. I found out last night that my son and his wife have Seasons 1-5 of Game of Thrones and will let me borrow them!
  3. I learned that windshield wipers CAN and WILL melt onto your windshield — in 17 degree F no less!!!!!!
  4. Once upon a time I rode my bicycle an average of 60 miles a week — and hope to do it again this summer when the weather stops its arctic shenanigans.
  5. I’m chomping at the bit to see the lily bulbs I planted in the fall blooming soon.
  6. I’ve got about a week’s supply of wood left and then it’s strictly (expensive) electric heat.
  7. I’m about to begin the 6th of 8 discs of Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-Estes’ series on myths and dreams called, “Mother Night”.  It is very interesting and compelling.  Dr. Pinkola-Estes, aside from being a Jungian analyst, is an accomplished poet.

My nominees:  anyone reading who would like to participate.  Every blog I read is versatile in its unique way.  Readers just stumbling onto this post that I don’t follow are also welcome!

  7. Michigan, right? My daughter and her family are in Howell off I-96. Did we talk about this before? Seems like we did… Age… What do you do if not ask the same questions… again, and again, and again…

Yes, MI. Howell is quite a ways from here. I’m retired. Where are you located?

      1. West Lafayette, IN… Ugh! I miss the beach! That being said… I think Michigan is great. I think I’m going to a writing course in Holland in May. There is one in Indy in two weeks, but I didn’t sign up, and now I have importnat meetings here at work. Writing For Your Life is the seminar.

              1. I bet it is… I’ve been stuck in Indiana for the past 13 years and have another 9 until retirement.

One piece of advice: don’t start doing your “countdown” to retirement until you’re about a year away. I started mine 5 years away and it made a very long 5 years… Just forget about how much longer you have :)

                  1. Yeah… I know. I don’t know if I’ll move closer to my granddaughter or back south. Maybe my wife has an opinion. Ha… Time will tell…
