De is the host of dVerse today. De says:
Whether you use it as a noun, verb, adjective or adverb (she said, spikily), just be sure your poem of 44 words includes some form of the word spike.
Hopefully I’m not being too mysterious, but I hope the picture tells the tale. I have a new furbaby, and her name is Crumpet. She was adopted from the cat shelter I volunteer with.
M’Lady
Twinkling eyes,
she of luxurious fur.
I, eyed, mesmerized;
hoolas of hoops jumped;
time stamped.
Then her temp spiked;
broke the date.
Steroid shot; then – wait.
This morning, the yesser yessed
to her fiddle fitness .
The chariot and chauffeur brought
m’lady to the castle.

Oh, this is previous!! Well penned, and whimsical. Spikes too!!
Love Crumpet, cutie she is!!

Thank you, De. The shelter comes up with just the right names for the cats. Very inventive ones. Glad you like the poem :)

I like your use of language. Nice poem. I hope she isn’t full of bubbles though.

Thank you, Robert. As a matter of fact, she’s been serial sneezing all day. Hoping the shot she got clears it up.

We have one cat. She’s a black cat. Nobody wanted her because she’s bad luck… I haven’t seen a mouse since she moved in. Allergy shots are completely worth our Pepper. Everyone needs a little spice in their life, even if it makes them sneeze. Sneezes are a part of life with a cat around here. I hope she is well, and all will be well, and every manner of thing shall be well. (Julian of Norwich must have had a cat)

I’m so glad she’s back fit and healthy, Jade. I went through a similar thing with Mojo recently. I once had a cat called Muffin – we could have had a Muffin and Crumpet tea party! Crumpet is a sweet little cat.

She is all fur and bones, very little flesh right now. She also is hiding out now that I moved her food dish :( I had no idea it would traumatize her. She has been through a rough life in her 2 short years.
