Sarah is the host of Saturday Mix. Sarah says:
This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of METAPHOR. Our challenge is all about the use of metaphor in our writing. You will need to use the metaphor provided in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our metaphor this week is:
-
Raining cats and dogs.
Good luck with your ‘Mad About Metaphor’ task – I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Don’t forget to tag ‘Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie’, ‘Saturday Mix’, and hashtag #MAM.
Snow weasels of winter scurry
Rough coats of fields appear
March gales proclaim open season on daffodils
While raining cats and dogs
Frolic amongst the blossoms
Shy playmate behind suspended cotton
Peeks out from time to time
Excellent! You did really well with your metaphors 🙂💕

Thanks Christine, it was fun to do it. Can you tell I have Spring on the brain?

I can see a little Amish girl hiding behind the washing on the line…
They put stuff out all year round. Guess they do a bit of ironing too.
I retired my iron years ago…
Very nice. Today was the first day I was able to go out without any coat.
Got up beyond the 70F mark.

I like the visuals you are describing. We have an Amish community not all that far from here. You are blessed to be able to go out without a coat. 70F! Woot! Woot!

It’s been a long cold winter and a very wet spring. I’m not sure if we’ll ever dry out.

The warmth is finally starting creep in here. In the morning you need a jacket but by 1 you can go out without one.

I wish I could say the same here. Went out to get the mail today and there was a sheet of ice on the water in the ditch 😦 It was sunny and ok a couple of days ago.
