OctPoWriMo2019 — Day 7 — speaking in (mature audiences only)

Image result for tantalus painting

Tantalizing tongues
test us terribly to totter
from truth, tumbling
into torrential tastes
that in time will taunt.

Languid laps of
luxurious liquid lines
lingering lusciously
on your lovely lips;
then la-la-la-la-la-la!

Gossip

Wagging waddlers
wander wickedly
willing wanderlust
wilting woestricken
ones, who wonder why.

Morgan Dragonwillow is the host (co-hosted today by Esther Jones) of OctPoWriMo.  Esther says:
Maybe you’d like to write about your first kiss. Or giving a speech. Or something else altogether. It’s up to you. It’s your tongue. Use it.

      1. Lol if your tongue cramped while reading mine, I guessed your fingers might have cramped writing this! 😉

What I mean is I read it aloud and my tongue cramped it was so good with all of the twisting. <3

Wasn’t expecting this trio of poems, each one riffing on one aspect of a tongue/talk playing with a letter, sometimes intimate, sometimes sad. The first stanza makes me think how hard ‘truth’ is to achieve.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Beth. Yes it is, if it even exists in a “pure” form!
