OctPoWriMo2019 Day 26 — If Love

Image result for michigan peach in the sun
If
love alights
may you rest tender
as storms will blow you away.
When clouds clear and sun is bright
may you return to
me again,
love.
If
stubbornness
digs in my heels, may
sand be wet without purchase.
Lay me in the surf to drown
in your sweet kisses,
love.
If
hurts taint our
tongues, may a spoon full
of kindness sweeten with sun
our peach, heaven sent,
eternal,
love.

Morgan Dragonwillow is the host of OctPoWriMo.  Morgan says:
What have you left unspoken?  What inner truth has you biting your tongue? Write for ten minutes diving into what is true for you.
Word Prompts:
Silence
Biting your tongue
Speak you truth
What is unspoken

  2. This is great. Just lovely.

I noticed you use the “Award Free Blog” I created. 🙂 I’m glad you do. I hope others do too. When I googled “Award Free Blog” pics I didn’t like any of them.

    I find your blog refreshing.

  3. It reads like a heartfelt, tender invocation. I like the repetition of ‘if’ and ‘love’!

Somehow those rich images reinforce the complex relationships we hold with those we love. I enjoyed reading this one and seeing it as well.

Thank you, Jade. The workshop was excellent and the first I’ve been to in a long time. My brain is full of interesting ideas about writing and revision, workshops were on the small side (30-50), and the speakers were outstanding. Now to absorb and go forward. Hope your own writing goes well.
