#FF — disagreement (aka sacrifice)

There were things that needed to be cleared up between them. Jake was mild-mannered but salty and firm when necessary. Gayle was sweet with a textured personality.

Their seven-year relationship became complicated on their sailing vacation to the Pacific Rim’s Ring of Fire. While scuba-diving, Jake found a jewel-encrusted dagger under a cave ledge. Gayle insisted it be given to Chilean government for their museum. Jack felt different ever since holding the knife.

Their late night conversation on deck over rum and poppers ended abruptly. Gayle’s lifeless form sank in a red cloud — to the kaiju gods.

[99 words]

Note: Kaiju is a Japanese word meaning “strange creature”. In English, it has come to mean “monster” or “giant monster.”

Sounds like a good B horror movie. I miss the (not-so) great British ones of the 1960s. :)

I love those old Hammer Films. My ex-bf used to have 3 sets of them: one with mummies, one with vampires, and one with Frankensteins.

Hammer!! That’s the name I couldn’t remember. I used to watch them stag. When I met my (eventual) wife, I tried to take her several times. I’d pay for two tickets. We’d watch the coming attractions and the cartoons. Five minutes after the feature started,, the eerie music would begin to play…. and we’d have to get up and leave.
I wonder if they’re available on Netflix, or YouTube?? :)
