Season’s Cloth

Old year put to sleep
under a green-white brocade —
dreaming forevermore.

Winter’s dark blanket awaits
Light germinates a New Year

Frank J. Tassone is the host of Haiki Challenge.  Frank says:
This week, write the #haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga) that alludes to the New Year (Shinnen), be it New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, the new year in general, etc.

Wouldn’t that be something, to be there at one of the solstices?

So many ways to celebrate! I’ve watched a few shows about Stonehenge…
There is a definite sense of magic in that air!

Not sure what song they were singing in the short clip but it gave me goosebumps. I agree about the magic in the air.
