A persistent urban myth is that aliens abduct humans and do weird experiments on us involving probes, after which they drop us back off onto the planet after giving us amnesia.
The myth is unfounded — the reality is much different. Extraterrestrials do abduct humans, but not to do any silly experiments on us. They’ve studied us, among us, for millenia and have learned all they need to learn. They take us for reasons the mind rebels at but can relate to.
The ETs have a station not far outside of our atmosphere. It’s cloaked so our archaic instruments don’t detect it. At the same time the surface of it is cushioned with breathable air and gravity; the surface is covered with one big golf course. Unlike humans, ETs are kind. The abducted people are housed inside at night, but in the daytime they are outside, playing golf, getting fit and tanned. They are fed only the most nutritious formulas, dosed with an amnesia drug (yes, that part of the myth is true.)
After six months or so, the crop is in the prime of physical health.
They are then harvested, freeze-dried, and shipped back to the ET home planet as a delicacy for the elite.
