The challenge today is to focus on [Promises in the Dark] and use it for a short story, a piece of flash fiction, or a poem that you can share with the WordPress writing community.
Lifetime stretched, caught between love and isolation
Sun’s bright spring, sunset’s fall, heart’s full and starved nations
Peaks of sweet ecstasy to caves flooded with tears
Barren haunted dustbowls, choked with cloying fears
A place is reached where tired hearts, seasoned eyes can see
That numbness’ wall behind’s the kindest place to be.
I never heard this U2 song before. That foot facial massage is a bit strange. Did you write that poem based on the song? I like the rhyming.

It’s on the Zooropa album. I based the poem on Pat Benatar’s song, and this video is a reflection of The Edge’s resistance to all of the “crap” that can keep a person revved up in emotional overload. So you thought the ropes were ok?

Ecstasy to tears…we are all on that rollercoaster. (K)
