December, a week before Christmas, she walked down the steps of the plane, her face embraced by warm tropical breeze. She looked skyward, thanking heaven for leading her here.
“Taxi!,” a voice called. Taxi in Costa Rica meant a man on a trike that had a bench for two on the back. Soon she and her backpack were entering the AirBnB near the marina.
She texted #0699626149, “I’m here. Meet you 4?”
Ding! “::smiley emoji::”
At four she stood looking at a pink princess.
Felipe shook her hand and said, “Welcome aboard, Captain. She’s all ready to go.”

Clever that he called her captain

Smart lady. It’s still touching the 80s here, but the cold hours are more plentiful than the warm. South for the winter already feels like a great idea.

It’s hovering near freezing at night but only saw frost once so far. 80s sounds blissful. Thank you for reading and your comment.

That sounds like the perfect AirBnB. (perhaps some wishful thinking on your part?) (K)

Thanks, Keith. I’m not sure if Felipe was simply a first mate or a mate mate, but yes, off they sailed.

Dear Lisa,
She knew what she wanted. Love the story and the song that adds the exclamation point.

I went to youtube search and put in “boat songs” and found it that way. It does a good job.

It is in the little town where I live on the Côte d’Azur in Provence, France. I passed it this evening, it is still there, still for sale. You do realise it is a fishing boat, yes?

Provence, France, nice! No I didn’t. You should buy it and start a charter fishing service.

I’d love some warm tropical breezes about now. Lovely picture. Now, she can sail away on her new boat.

A charming story, I thought the balmy breezes were the gift to her and then a boat as well. Very happy ending !
