I’ve been doing Movies, Movies, Movies! for over a year now. Instead of doing just a best movie (and netflix series) list for 2020, I’m expanding it this first time to cover 2019 as well. One thing I learned today while trying to find them at imdb.com is that the total number of movies and series titles made in 2019-2020 totaled…. get ready….630,532!!!!!! Boggles the mind, doesn’t it. I decided to comb through my weekly posts starting in 9/19 as they pretty much cover everything I’ve watched since then. I didn’t count them as I went but when totaling them up they came to a beautiful 40. How about that.
These are in no order of liking. I won’t break them down by year but they were in either 2019 or 2020. I’ll give them a few-word genre/subject tags and will leave it to you to research them to see if it’s something you’d like. If you want to find them in my weekly movie reviews, you can try to find them with my blog search box.

Yes I quite enjoyed it and the book it is based on as well. The list is not in any order of liking so it just happened to fall at the top.

Wow 630,532…that is crazy!
Great list Lisa. That is a lot of movies. I need to watch some more modern movies…I just finished watching the Bad News Bears 1976 again.

I mean that must be a lot of short films that were never published…that blew my mind.

Oh there is a list of every one, Max. It’s the one I started scrolling through, 50 at a time. It’s *everything* including shorts, TV series, premium channel offerings, etc. Question: I got Hans email. Let me make sure I’m understanding this right. If released only to TV we can’t include it in the draft, but if it was released on a paid streaming service like netflix we can?

That had me confused also…I wonder if he meant to type that “no”… We will have to ask him I guess…it makes no sense that a straight to dvd movie can be picked but not a tv movie…
My question was about a British Series that was played on PBS…called Hollywood released in 1980…13 hours about the Silent Movie Era…kinda like Ken Burns Civil War…but about Silent Movie production.

Sounds very interesting! I know you’re a fan of those old silent movies.

Oh yea….the best comedies to me are Chaplin and Buster Keaton…the Beatles and Stones of their day lol…
My favorite actress ever…even over Drew… Clara Bow. I respect that woman so much. She was a hero to me after I read her story.

Put her on the itinerary for the time machine trip.

Oh she will be! Mary Pickford and the other actresses wouldn’t have anything to do with her…she was shunned… because she was from Brooklyn and didn’t hide her indiscretions…like they did…and they had more to hide… sorry…just a huge fan.

I’ve only seen 5 of them and liked all 5- Chernobyl certainly not a ‘feel good series’ of the year but it was outstanding.

Yes, a lot of these movies are not ‘feel goods’ but carry important messages. Dark Waters is right up there with Chernobyl in horror 😦

Will have to check that out.

I had no idea that many titles could be produced in a year!

A professional film critic would be kept busy! That’s a whole lot of films. What surprises me lately , or did, is how much Netflix is shaking things up by being a creator now rather than just a distributor if you will.

Yes, I just hope the quality isn’t diluted over time. I’ve seen some pretty shabby productions by them. OK but more like tv movie of the week instead of first class theater releases.
