“The difference between life and art is art is more bearable.“
– Charles Bukowski
Embraced heart listens
for time’s prisoner will
die, but you magic me,
life breeze my porcelain.
Sad poetry pies of warm
liquid caramel perfume,
your growling whimpers
heal my wet window sky.

Lillian is today’s host of dVerse’ Open Link Night. I decided to turn to The Oracle for a message today. This is what she gave me. I’m positive she is friends with Charles Bukowski, as I’ve been reading his book of poetry, “Love is a Dog from Hell.”
This is an awesome piece! I want to try something like this now, I’ve been reading Bukowski again since we were talking abut him. His writing is addictive. Anyway, you nailed it with this little write!

Absolutely Loved this piece Lisa – it certainly sang for me and reminded me of old William Burroughs and David Bowie too – with their ‘cut outs’

Fabulous put together of these words!!!! I especially LUV theses words
“you magic me” — I may have to steal that phrase! I really really love it! Hmmmm….our fifty first anniversary is on Sunday….I do believe I will whisper this phrase in my husband’s ear when we wake up that morning!! Surely I won’t have to cite you as the author of those words if I simply use them like that 🙂

Kudos, Lisa, for a wonderful ode to Buk. At the next live OLN, I will recite BUK/BUTTKUS. Where did you get the word list? Is that part of Oracle?

Thanks, Glenn, and VERY much looking forward to hearing you read BUK/BUTTKUS. Go to the magnetic poetry site. I used the poet one.

“for time’s prisoner will die” — ah aren’t we all time’s prisoners. Moving piece. I LOVE the magnetic poetry site too, such fun. I have to set a timer though or I get lost down the rabbit hole. 🙂

Such a great tribute with that economy of style:
‘your growling whimpers
heal my wet window sky.’
Glenn put me off Buk with his description of his womanising, but then you posted that poem for Quadrille and I’m hooked – I’m a fan!

So happy to hear it, Ingrid. He’s like the good, the bad, and the ugly all rolled into one, and there is something to be said for that.
