The last thing I remember is seeing the Mack truck. Then I’m flying through a technicolor “sky.”
Time has lost its coordinates. There’s a whooshing sound mingled with the voices of infinite conversations, but I can’t understand what’s being said. I absorb the fragrance of every flower I’ve ever known.
The aerial sensory kaleidoscope ends and I’m approaching a sea. Wait! Is that you?
It is you!
With infinite love that encompasses me you say, “I’ve been waiting.”
My heart expands to the universe as I reach out.
“But it’s not your time yet. You have to go back.”

I just watched the first episode of a netflix series on near-death experiences. It was very interesting. Of course I wanted to share some of what I learned from it.

That Mack truck is usually a good indicator that it’s time. “How will I know when it’s my time?” “When that Mack truck hits you, it’s time.”
I love the title. It conjures a hilarious image of her flying through the air especially knowing she survives.

Nice to see you back, Nobbin. What’s been happening with you? And… in my story, with time being unhinged as it is, you are logically correct, that this all could have taken place from the time the Mack hit her and she landed, still alive. Glad I was able to make you smile at the hilarity :)

I loved this! A beautiful story of the time after life here. The senses heightened and the reunions with those we love. She got a glimpse of what waits for her, even though it was not her time! Nicely done.

Wonderful, unexpected ending, Lisa! I wonder if the persona is disappointed or not. Hope the injuries weren’t too bad and the hospital bills not sky high.

Dora, on the episode I watched, almost every person said they were disappointed they had to go back but they understood why they had to. One guy’s dad said he would be the one to bring him back next time :) I hope so also on the injuries and hospital bills. Thank you for reading and glad you liked the story.

Yes. One of the ladies was dead for over an hour, in cold water (went over a waterfall in a kayak and it got lodged 10 feet underwater.) She also learned that her oldest son was going to die at 18! When 18 passed and he was still alive she started to relax, but shortly after that he was killed in a freak accident.

What a fascinating take on the prompt. I never thought of that Beatles song that way before. So much thoughts about that and about what is/might be going on in our minds in those liminal moments. I love the use of imagery too.

I think some episodes offer some perspectives that get you thinking, while others had me feeling a bit skeptical and are a bit far fetched. I think there is value in watching the whole series, but I took a few things with a pinch of salt and others, like NDE’s I have a firm belief in. The episode on reincarnation is pretty mind boggling. I think you’d enjoy it. Let me know what you think if you do watch the whole thing.
