To knock me off balance again
I see you, wind-blown, in my dream.
Freezing and begging for respite,
I beckon, “Come, get in the car.”
So cold you are! You reach for me
to knock me off balance again.
We cling for dear life, for our love,
enduring time, circumstances.
I hadn’t thought of you in years.
How did we find each other now
to knock us off balance again?
Hunger, still blind, overpowers
as our arms entwine, sparks crack.
Once unspoken, now yelled to sky,
”I love you!” “I love you!” we sigh,
turn deaf to imbalance again…
Today’s offering is in quatern form.
Carrie is today’s host of The Sunday Muse.
Love can knock us off our feet, and we do it willingly. This is a gorgeous quatern Lisa! Always a pleasure to see you at the Muse!

“I hadn’t thought of you in years” ~ those few words stopped me in my tracks. For when that happens, and a coupling results, fierce sparks do fly. Great write, great quatern!

Helen, thank you! The dream was so vivid! And truly, I hadn’t thought of this person in years, but there they were. Makes me wonder about a lot of things.

A beautifully written poem. It is odd that we suddenly find someone in a dream who we haven’t thought of in years. I sometimes wonder if they might have run into me as well.

BTW I took a number of photos on my walk to meet daughters today. Will try to download and go through them to post sometime this week. I also took some doors for Manja, and some graffiti for Jack Davis, too. Will post on memadtwo–I’m going to try to post there a couple times a week and do any overflow on kblog. I will not be posting every day again for awhile!

“To knock me off balance again,” there has to be an end to all this but generally it “this time it will be different” but seldom is it. Kids get treated to “tough love”, perhaps this should be an adult term to use also.

You’re like my hubby, Li. He has vivid dreams all the time, while I only remember snatches of mine like twice a year!
Beautiful description and emotion…….
Yeah, I BET you’re wondering about that dream encounter!
Any chance of looking that person up….? Getting a cuppa Joe……….?
And, of course, keeping all of us updated about it, hehehe………?
