Setting aside the political shenanigans, interesting dichotomy taking place. As part NA, I can appreciate the desire to clean up Mother Earth and her natural resources. But, the flip side is the oil, needed for gasoline and, as a derivative, diesel. There is no battery in existence that can run an 18-wheeler for any great distance. Add to that, petroleum-based products…huge industry.
Just an observation…it’s what I do. 😉

Vic, when you say “it’s what I do” do you mean make observations? Or work for the petroleum industry?

LOL whew! :::wiping brow::: We need energy but we need to stop sucking on the petroleum teat. So many petroleum products can be made with alternative sources (e.g. hemp) Our nation needs dedicated focus on developing alternative energy sources (e.g. solar, hydroelectric, wind)

We had that opportunity when Tesla was still alive. He built the tower to use Earth’s freely available energy but, since it wouldn’t make any money, he couldn’t get backing. Once he died, our government confiscated his research and classified it. Wardenclyffe, honey:

Where is my angry and disgusted emoji face. Evil forces are at work. I have to have faith good will conquer evil. What do you think of Elon Musk?

How is this…😠😡🤬
I think he is a guy that likes to make money, likes attention, likes power and has a gi-normous ego. He can’t seem to craft a safe, self-driving car that doesn’t run into things and/or explode and burn for four days. I wouldn’t take a Tesla if they gave it to me for free.

lol Thanks for the emoji assistance. You don’t see any positive attributes for Musk?

I don’t like/dislike the man. I question his motives but, then again, I question all the ultra-rich elites, not just him (don’t even get me started on Hollyweird…read about Matt Damon’s foray into “MAGA country?”). They loathe we the proletariat/plebeians and they want us off “their” planet. Any “philanthropy” for our supposed benefit…isn’t. Honest altruism is not a rich man’s game/fancy…not in this day and age. You’re more likely to find kindness in a homeless person, stuck in an encampment in CA or a Midwestern farmer struggling to feed his family. As long as this world has a freaking bond villain sitting atop the WEF throne (and all the minions in the background), we are so screwed.

Yipes! No. Maybe we should just outlaw all cars and have ample public transportation and fully networked bike lanes? I would love it!

As Americans, we love our individual cars. Different mindset from Europe & their mass train transportation. I used the buses when commuting to work when I was living in Texas. Traffic going into downtown Austin was awful. Biking to work is cool in a small town but, not helpful in bad weather.
I see all sides of this. Getting from point A to point B should be hassle free. We’ve gone from horses to bikes to steam engines to coal engines to combustion engines to EVs. I’m all for a DeLorean that runs on food scraps and flies. 😄
I can’t help but wonder if Tesla’s work could have converted cars to use Earth’s free energy. Trains & buses, too…🤔

Vic, if that “Earth’s free energy” existed in Tesla’s time, it must still exist, yes? My simplistic mind says isn’t there a way to study Tesla’s notes and pick up where he left off? Or did you say earlier they destroyed his notes? Have you seen the movie, “The Prestige”? In there they allude to something Tesla was working on…

Oh, yes Ma’am.
People either have forgotten or actively ignore the fact that our planet is alive…sentient (my NA side is coming out…actually, my Celtic side agrees). We don’t live on some rock, floating in space that just “sprouted” plants, animals and people. Despite the fact that we have made a BIG ole mess here, she sees us as her children. She has an electrical field and a “heartbeat”, as it were. Ever heard of the Schumann Resonance?
Tesla’s work wasn’t destroyed. Our government confiscated it, after his death, classified it, and are actively researching it and using it.
I have seen bits & pieces of it. I have seen another Tesla movie that the name escapes my memory at the moment…🤔🤨

No, I haven’t heard of Schumann Resonance. I saw a movie not long ago about the competition between Tesla and Westinghouse that was really good but can’t remember the name of it (but I could find it if you are interested.)

Earth isn’t the only one that is sentient, either. Our entire solar system is “alive”, including our sun.

The technology for alternatives is there–no funding for research and not enough profit motive. But in the end you can’t breathe or drink or eat money. (K)

How did the US become so change-averse? I don’t get the anti-education and culture stuff either. My grandparents never made it past 8th grade but they were all cultured in a way that is considered elitist today. They appreciated both the arts and learning.

Good question. I think arrogance has a lot to do with it. Inflexibly fixed arrogance.
