TSM 172 — each night she tries

by day she’s drenched
gloom’s sticky things
forever young
forever trapped

each night she tries
to recapture
the special dream
when she felt free

woolly cushioned
each night she tries
she drifts to sleep
to see bright wings

when moon rise and
when daylight flees
each night she tries
to hear the song

dim dusty trails
that wind along
cold stone pathways
each night she tries

    “gloom’s sticky things
    forever young”

“each night she tries” … That’s enough. ❤

Keep on trying, young one, you’ll find your way!

Hey, remember your Hemingway prompt and that quote about the broken places? I just ordered some wall art that is a picture of Hem at his typewriter and with that quote on it!

Keep trying to find you way in the dreamscape, there will be crumbs for you to follow into the daylight. I often take refuge in my dreams.

Truedessa, such a beautiful, wise suggestion. I do also. I don’t have to be in control of what happens there or even have an illusion of control like I do when awake 😉

ms_lili, nice write. Dreams are hard to repeat unless it is a ‘recurring dream’ but we have no control over those either. (I had two, they were quite frequently occurring but after years and years they both stopped, at the same time. But I have not forgotten their contents.) I do hope your heroin will have hers come true.
BTW, you are the first I for the prompt wrote to the rain. And the flooded stream to cross is another problem of it’s own.

Thank you very much, Jim. Dreams are “messages from home” and recurring dreams are important messages that are trying to get through. If you remember the dreams, try to remember when they stopped and what big life event happened at the same time. Maybe you can decipher them that way… Thank you for reading and your interesting comment 🙂

    Very lyrical and haunting.
    At least she’s still “trying”………..
Last time I felt any of that I was about 12, and I’ve stopped trying, lol !!
Just a nice cup of coffee, good book, good movie….I’m okay.
