United Nations committee asks U.S. to investigate possible Line 3 treaty violations — Rise Up Times

This would be precedent setting.  We need that kind of precedent.  In Michigan, we are fighting Line 5 running under the Great Lakes right now.

“If the violations are verified by the United Nations, the letter says it would be a breach of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, which has been signed and ratified by the U.S. “

Yeah, REALLY. That would be fantastic. Someone has to keep pushing the darkness back! But it never seems to end, does it? I was working on a show recently (not saying the title due to NDA) about agent orange use in the US in the ’70s for some kind of forestation thing. The woman who was writing letters and trying to get someone to understand the sickness it was causing….her house ended up burned down and all her children killed in it.
How does one fight evil like that?
The woman survived, though, and to her immense, unfathomable credit, kept fighting until the day she died.
So I hope the Anishinaabe win and win BIG.

Stace have you seen “Dark Waters” with Mark Ruffalo? I really don’t see us prevailing as a species, I’m so sorry to say. One day at a time to seek the light in it is my new mission statement.

No, I haven’t, and now I’m afraid to see it, lol !!! EEEEEK
I’m with you completely, tho. Sometimes when people say, “…or the human race will die out!” I’m sort of thinking, “Yeah….? And…?” If there’s not a deep, powerful and integrated sea change from the way “we’re” operating now…. aren’t we paving the way, consequentially speaking, toward a fate that’s rushing toward us?
One day at a time sounds like a very good way to retain one’s sanity, Li!
(And I’ll put Mark’s thing on my wish list, lol)

Stacey, maybe you don’t want to see it. It’s a real bummer and it’s based on fact.
