I stopped at one of my most favorite bakeries and eateries after the massage and even behaved myself. No delicious desserts like you will see in the picture, but I did get a medium chai latte, a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread and a loaf of 6-grain sourdough bread. They also have a gift shoppe so I picked up a couple of neat Christmas gifts for the kids while there.

I was able to get a trailer hitch installed and a bike rack also on Thursday. I was trying to get everything together for a Halloween Night Ride with the bicycle trail riding group I’m in, which included these two items and head- and tail- lights for the bike. Once I was assured that there would be riders my speed going (8mph) it was a green light. We started in the town of Belmont on the Frederik Meijer White Pine Trail and headed towards Cedar Springs (11 or so miles out.) The faster riders got to Cedar Springs and had a few brewskies, while us slower riders made it 7.6 and turned around. We headed to the agreed upon rondezvous location, Third Nature Brewery in Rockford, which is 2 blocks off of the trail. I had delicious hard cider and a sandwich with sweet potato fries out on the HEATED outdoor patio (they have fire pits with gas-powered heat and also those tall things they use in orchards to keep the fruit warm.) It was a wonderful experience riding with a group in total darkness except for the tiny lights on our bikes. I would highly recommend it!

Most of you have already seen that I’m taking a 99% blogging break for the month of November. There will be a couple more POPO2021 posts that have been scheduled, and a couple more hanspostcard singles posts during the month but that’s about it. I will read comments for these when I get back in December. I will miss you all, but a crone gotta do what a crone gotta do.
Love this picture

Thanks, Sadje. The top pic? My massage therapist saw the idea in a mag and had her assistant put it together. I love the creativity of it.

I’m in love with the bench…that is awesome. Have a great month Lisa! The trail looks really cool. Maybe when you get back…my floor will be done lol.
And happy early Thanksgiving.

Max the bench is so solid and neat. It was raining that day or I would have sat on it. That trail is 88 miles long! It goes from Grand Rapids to Cadillac. I can’t wait to see pics of your new floor! Thanks and back to you on Happy Thanksgiving. Hoping to have some neat stories and pictures to share when I get back in December.

A skeleton in a bubble bath. That is hilarious!
Are the coffee cups in the picture edible?
I want a Halloween bun!
Sometimes, I need a break, too.
Happy Halloween!

That looks like fun. Funny, I just had a dream where I started a bike tour but had to drop out because I was too slow. Which is strange, because not only do I not own a bike, I probably haven’t ridden one in 40 years.
I’ll miss you, but as you know , I often take breaks myself. I know you’ll put it to good use. (K)

Kerfe maybe you did a mind meld with me in dreamland, as I was worried I’d be going too slow on this ride. It ended up 5 of us were the slower group and the other 11 rode on ahead. It worked out well. I’m surprised you don’t use a bike to get around in the city. Aren’t they starting to promote biking with stations where you can just grab a bike from them in NYC?
I’ll miss you too, K, and you’re right, I will 🙂

They do have citi bikes you can rent. But it involves an app and credit cards, and I had credit card numbers stolen twice this year. After talking with the security person at the credit card company, I’m avoiding both credit card use and apps. I could buy a bike, but no place to store it. Most bikers are a danger to pedestrians at the moment anyway–they haven’t figured out yet how to make it safe here. And the vehicles are a danger to both. I’m too old.
I did have a bike way back when and rode my bike to work during two transit strikes. But that was 45 years ago.
