Today my haiku and haiga are featured on Akita International Haiku Network as part of the World Haiku Series 2021. I am humbled and honored to be today’s featured poet.
Thank you again to Linda Lyberg for allowing me to use her lovely desert blossoms photo.
Thank you again to Ellen Jennings of PassingByPhoto for allowing me to use her lovely ibis photo.

Kerfe, thank you ❤ Everyone is a "winner" in this one, but it still feels real good.

Having marched in my share of Memorial Day parades, I liked the one that said: “ uniformed, seasoned they march erect down Main Street trying to forget”. Where I to add my two cents I would have made the last line something like “comforting each other.” There’s a aspect going on too I often feel.

Greg, thanks for reading and I appreciate your feedback as a Veteran. This could be turned into a tanka with that added. Feel free to do so and please share it. You bring back memories of drinking sake and composing haiku many moons ago.
